Geshe Tenzin Namgyal
Spiritual Master / PHD in Buddhist Philosohy
Geshe Lharampa Tenzin Namgyal is a bona fide member and monk of Gaden Sharste Monastery. He was born on 30th July 1979 at Mundgod, Karnataka. In the year 1992 he joined Gaden Shartse Monastery for basic Tibetan and Advanced Buddhist studies. He has been a member and resident at this Monastery since 1992 and is a highly regarded and respected Monk at our Monastery.
In the Year 1994 he was ordained as Getsul (Novice Monk Vow) and in the year 2000 he was Fully ordained as a Monk. He has already completed his all studies on five major texts of Buddhist Philosophy, which include five years of Pramanavartika- Buddhist Logic Science, five years of Prajnaparamita-The perfection of wisdom, three Years of Madhyamika-The middle way philosophy, two years of Abhi-Dharmakosa-Buddhist Cosmology and Metaphysics, two years of Vinaya-Monastic disciplines, rules and monk’s vows. In the year 2012 he was Given the Geshe Lharampa Position (PhD in Buddhist Philosophy). He also Completed his Tantric training in Guyto monastery in the year of 2015 and was recognized as a Tantric Master. Besides Buddhist Philosophy, In the year 2006 He also received Monk science scholar certificate for completing science workshops, organized in India by University of California etc. He is also a good teacher and skillful in Buddhist initiations, teaching meditations, Rituals, creating Sand Mandalas. He will be performing the duties of Spiritual Master during his Tour of USA.
He has also received many sacred initiations, teachings and oral transmissions from renowned great masters of Gelug Tradition such as H.H the Dalai lama, Gaden Tripa, Kyabje Lati Rinpoche, Kyabje Khensur Jampa Yeshi, Khensur Konchuk Tsering etc. He also learned and received Tantra teachings from these masters.
He is experienced in chanting Buddhist rituals for all ceremonies, He been to perform Buddhist rituals in Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan where he played very important role by doing all the prayer and rituals to benefit many students. Besides that, he has also been active in monastic administration, Monastery’s School teacher for two years etc.
